Dear Friends in Christ,
This past Wednesday, we had an initial meeting of those who have been nominated to serve on the Parish Family Advisory Council, henceforth known as PFAC. This is the consultative body that will eventually serve as the pastoral council for the single parish we will become in NE Seattle. The “Handbook for Parish Families” describes the role of the PFAC as follows:
St. Francis House, a day center for working poor/homeless folks for over 50 years, really needs sandwiches. Please consider making them with your family, friends, and neighbors.
It's an excellent way to earn service hours for your school! Sandwiches should consist of simple, inexpensive bread (white or whole wheat) with peanut butter/jelly or lunchmeat/cheese or tuna. Place in individual baggies, then back into loaf bag. Learn More...
Inspired by St. Camillus de Lellis (1550-1614), the patron saint of nurses, hospitals, and the sick, our Camillus ministers are specially trained lay volunteers who work alongside hospital chaplains at Seattle Children’s Hospital.
Dear Friends in Christ,
On the 3rd Sunday of Lent, the church celebrates the first of three “Scrutinies,” or deeper examinations of the conversion process the Elect are going through as they prepare for Baptism, Confirmation, and First Eucharist at the Easter Vigil. The purpose of the Scrutinies is “to uncover, then heal all that is weak, defective, or sinful” in the hearts of the Elect and to “strengthen all that is upright, strong, and good.” Continue reading...
Join us for Movie Nights at St. Bridget’s! We will have light snacks and beverages available; feel free to bring snacks and drinks of your own! We are looking for teen volunteers to help at the first two screenings—service hours are available! An optional monetary or item donation to the St. Vincent de Paul Society will be gratefully appreciated at each screening. Continue reading...
Dear Friends in Christ,
One of the main purposes of Lent is to prepare us to celebrate the paschal mystery of Christ’s suffering, death and resurrection. This is the central belief of the Christian Church, and the reason for our hope in the face of whatever is before us. This is no abstract or sentimental exercise. Through the Lenten disciplines of prayer, fasting and almsgiving, we prepare our hearts and minds, bodies and souls to be transformed into Christ. Continue reading...
NOVENA FOR REFUGEES & IMMIGRANTS
Join the Social Justice Ministry in a 9-day Novena to St. Juan Diego, praying for the safety and care of refugees and immigrants worldwide. The Novena will occur daily at noon, from March 19 (Feast of St. Joseph) to March 27. We will pray the USCCB prayer together for 10 minutes via Zoom. If you can’t join live, please consider praying on your own. We may not be able to do much alone, but we can unite in prayer and solidarity. Join via Zoom. Click for link.
Four babies are expected at the Refugee Resettlement Project in the next six weeks! Please help us give these mothers and their babies a warm welcome by participating in our baby shower. Any new and/or gently used, clean baby items would be greatly appreciated. Bassinets, strollers, car seats, baby clothes, bath items, diapers, and wipes—these families are starting with nothing and will appreciate your donations and gifts! Continue reading...

Homebound Ministry – Bringing the Eucharist to Those in Need
Do you know someone who is unable to attend Mass but would like to receive Holy Communion? Please contact your parish office so we can arrange for a minister to visit them.
We are also looking for volunteers to serve as Homebound Ministers, bringing the Eucharist and a sense of community to those who cannot join us in person. If you're interested in this meaningful ministry, please reach out to Fr. Duc Nguyen.
For more details, check the parish bulletin. Thank you for helping us extend Christ’s love to all.
Dear Friends in Christ,
Sometimes a voice from the past speaks to us just at the right time. A popular author I read a few years back is Robert Fulghum, perhaps best known for his top selling book “All I Really Need to Know I learned in Kindergarten.” Continue reading...
