Dear Friends in Christ, One of my favorite hymns is a song by the monks of Weston Priory in Massachusetts titled “Journey’s Ended Journey’s Begun.” The words of the song describe some endings and beginnings taking place here at St. Bridget’s.

Dear Friends in Christ, The grand re-opening of our parish hall last Sunday, September 11, was a huge success. Thanks to all who came for the celebration, and here’s to many more as a parish community. I want to thank the many people who generously helped with the “Hall Refresh Project.” A special word of thanks to parish staff person Luanne Johnson who spent many, many hours giving the hall a warm, family touch. I invite everyone to continue our fellowship with the Pancake Breakfast that follows our 9:30 am Mass this Sunday, September 18. The Foosball and Air Hockey tables will be available for use!

Confirmation classes begin on Sunday, September 18, at 11:00 am in the Fireside Room.

Dear Friends in Christ, A sometimes-overlooked aspect of church life is what the Greeks called “Koinonia” or “Fellowship,” which the dictionary describes as “Being together for mutual benefit.” The Acts of the Apostles details what this looked like in the early church. "And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and prayers day by day...and to sharing everything they had in common.” (Acts 2:46-47).

Let’s kick off fall with a celebration! Join us following Mass on Sunday, September 11 as we celebrate the official opening of our newly redecorated parish hall and kick off fall together! Enjoy a latte from Mocha Motion, breakfast treats, activities for the kids, and more. Great things are happening at St. Bridget’s, let’s celebrate together!

Dear Friends in Christ, Those of you who were at our 9:30 am Mass last Sunday, heard me confess in the homily that I am a “News Junkie.” My mind is often cluttered with the text message acronym “TMI,” too much information. In order to listen more deeply to the will of God, I need to intentionally spend less time on the news, and more time in quiet prayer, meditation, poetry, spiritual reading, and beautiful music.
