Part of the “Back to School” season is a hopeful increase in attendance at Sunday Mass in our family of parishes. Please spread a word of encouragement to everyone in your family to participate in one of the 6 Masses we offer on weekends. That includes our children and youth. We are still in need of volunteers to help with our Children’s Church or CLOW programs that help our young enter more fully into the meaning of the Mass. Please check the weekly bulletin or email for more information.
As central as the Mass is to our Catholic life, there are other sacraments and prayer forms that are also valuable to our growth in the life of Christ. Please note them in our NE Seattle Catholic Community schedule of “Liturgy and Worship Opportunities.” They include the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession), contemplative prayer, bible study, the recitation of the rosary, and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
One opportunity I want to note in a special way is the celebration of the Anointing of theSick. That will be offered on a regular basis after Mass at OLL and St. Catherine on the first Saturday and Sunday of the month, and after Mass on the first Friday and Sunday of the month at Assumption and St. Bridget. Fr. Duc and I are also glad to offer this healing sacrament at other times by appointment.
Thanks to everyone for their participation in the spiritual life of our community!
