Join us for a showing of the lively documentary on Sr. Thea Bowman’s journey to sainthood. She is one of six Black Catholics who are under consideration to be recognized as saints. She was born in 1937 and grew up in Canton, Mississippi. She converted to Catholicism when she was 9 and decided to become a Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration at 15. The joy with which she embraced her faith, helping the poor and underserved of her community is awe-inspiring.
Her life epitomized the words of Pope Francis in Evangelii Gaudium: “Indeed, those who enjoy life most are those who leave security on the shore and become excited by the mission of communicating life to others.”
Come celebrate with us after 5:00 Mass on Saturday, February 25th. Pizza and beverages will be served. Please sign up HERE.
