Dear Friends in Christ. One of the recent announcements at Mass is that tax statements indicating your financial gifts to the church in 2024 should have been emailed or mailed to you by now. If you have not received yours yet, please contact Colleen at [email protected]. Thanks to all of you for your support. This bookkeeping reminder is an opportunity to check-in with our lives as stewards of God’s grace. Stewardship is an attitude that acknowledges that everything we have in terms of time, talent and treasure comes from God and ultimately belongs to God. We show gratitude and trust in God’s continued providence by regularly giving back a percentage of our time, talent, and treasure. Generous stewardship will always come back to bless us in some way. Regularly giving our treasure is essential. We are below the budget for revenue at this point in the fiscal year in all four of our parishes. I believe we can make that up if everyone commits to giving what they honestly can. A reminder that online giving can make this easy to do. While financial support of the church matters, so does the giving of our time and talent in the various ministries that flow from our life as a faith community. All four of our parishes have the same generous 10% of their members who regularly serve as lectors, EMs, ushers, hospitality ministers, and volunteers in our faith formation, sacramental prep, and outreach programs. I am grateful for their generosity in serving our parishes. I hope that more of you will consider volunteering in the various service opportunities in our NE Seattle Catholic Community. We particularly need more servers at our Masses. Please check the weekly word email or the parish websites for more information. Let’s join in the prayer of Psalm 19. “What return shall I make to the Lord, for all the good he has done for me?” Blessing of peace, Fr. William Heric, Pastor
