This coming Thursday, August 15th is the Solemnity of the Assumption of the BlessedVirgin Mary, a holy day of obligation for Catholics to participate in Mass. It’s also the parish feast day for our brothers and sisters at Assumption Parish. Please check the bulletin for all Mass opportunities in our family but I hope you will consider joining me and our friends at Assumption on the 15th for Mass at 6:30 pm followed by a special reception with wine, soft drinks, and cheese. All are welcome!
One of the exciting features of the “Partners in the Gospel” model of parish life is the increased leadership of lay ministers in the service of our family of parishes. One recommended position in this regard is the appointment of someone to oversee the overall administrative life of all the parishes and schools in the family. I am happy to announce that Torrie Smith has accepted the position of Director of Operations for our family of parishes in northeast Seattle. Torrie is well known at OLL where she has served on staff for the past seven years. Effective immediately, she will oversee all aspects of business, finance, and facilities in each of our parishes, including supervision of administrative and maintenance staff.
We are so very blessed to have Torrie serving in this role. Please join me in thanking her for accepting this position!
