Dear Friends in Christ,
One of the first things we teach our children is to say, “Thank you.” So, I want to offer a public thank you to the following in our St. Bridget’s Community. First thanks to Sarah Chopyak and Alex Kostadinov for the beautiful music they have offered for the numerous funerals we have had in the last couple of months. Thanks as well to Christine Kelly for helping with the many details surrounding the funerals, and to Luanne Johnson for her great work in putting on such lovely receptions. Thanks also to those who helped Luanne by serving at these receptions.
At our “Kick-off Sunday,” we made a special effort to invite all our parish families to commit to volunteering for various ministries here at St. Bridget’s. A big thanks to our staff program coordinators Melissa Malley and Anne Lovinger Earhart who orchestrated the celebration. Thank you also to those of you who expressed a willingness to serve in our parish. Let’s encourage each other to be good stewards of our time and talent in serving the Lord through our parish ministries.
A final thank you goes to Manon Cypher for the fine reflection she offered at Masses last weekend as part of our St. Phoebe Day celebration. She is a living example of a Catholic woman who has been graced with gifts for ministry and leadership in our church. The role of women in our church is an issue that is growing in importance. Thanks to Manon for encouraging our consideration of it.
St. Therese of Lisieux once said, “All is grace, a gift of God.” Please join me in giving thanks for all God’s grace given to us lately at St. Bridget’s.
Blessings of peace,
Fr. William Heric, Pastor
